The Hon Minister for Tourism ‘Akosita Havili Lavulavu, the CEO Sione Moala Mafi, and the Ministry of Tourism in Tonga have been geared-up the initiatives for the Beautiful Tonga campaign to keep Tonga clean and green up with the natural beauties of its tradition flowers and decorative plants.
The clean and green up campaign was started with the Minister of Tourism presented lawnmowers to 8 villages in Tongatapu including Hofoa and Kolomotu’a from Nukuálofa District, Lapaha, and Fatumu from Hahake District, Lomaiviti and Malapo from Vahe Loto District, Matahau and Kolovai from Hihifo District.
These lawnmowers are to empower the villages the keep up with the clean and green beautiful Tonga campaign and more importantly to become a lifestyle for every family in the village.
The Ministry of Tourism encouraged every family in the village with the importance of using the natural beauties of our traditional flowers and decorative plants to keep Tonga Beautiful instead of decorated with balloons and flags that will cost them a lot of money.
A similar program that has been scheduled to Vava’u, Ha’apai, Niua, and ‘Eua which appeared that the community around Tonga is very supportive of this Beautiful Tonga campaign.
The Beautiful Tonga Campaign is also helping each family and community in preparedness to combat against the pandemic disease of the COVID-19 should it get to Tonga.
Every family and community should be getting used to stay clean and keep Tonga green and make it beautiful all the time.
Tongatapu, Vava’u, Niua and ‘Eua were already completed their round two inspections and Ha’apai is scheduled for this week.
The Ministry of Tourism is working together with the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Internal Affairs in promoting ‘Tonga Faka’ofo’ofa’ (Beautiful Tonga) and the importance of Tauhi ke ‘Ma’a mo Matala Ma’u pe‘ (keeping it clean green-up).
