29 July 2020 Hon Prime Minister Dr. Pohiva Tu’i’onetoa celebrates the completion of the three brand new classroom buildings for ‘Apifo’ou College.
This is part of the Gita reconstruction projects that were funded by the Australian government and the World Bank Pacific.
‘Apifo’ou College was one of the schools that some of their classroom buildings were destroyed by Cyclone Gita years ago but today is the completion of this wonderful work.
This is part of overseas-aid particularly from the Australian government and the World Bank Pacific in supporting Tonga’s resilience and protecting children’s education for the future.
Minister of Education Hon Siaosi Sovaleni, Minister of Finance Hon Tevita Lavemaau, Secretary for Cabinet Edgar Cocker, CEO for MEIDECC Paula Ma’u, the Representative from the World Bank Pacific Natalia Palu Latu, former Prime Minister Dr. Feleti Sevele and others have attended the celebration.
